How SmartBrief AI handles patient information

SmartBrief AI is built for Indian OPD clinics handling sensitive patient data. Here is exactly how it is treated.

Where is patient data stored?

Patient briefs are processed in real time and are not permanently stored on SmartBrief AI's own servers. Each brief exists for the duration of the session. No patient data is written to a long-term database by SmartBrief AI.

Who can see patient information?

Only the treating doctor using the dashboard can see the brief generated for their patient. SmartBrief AI staff do not access individual patient briefs.

Does SmartBrief AI use any third-party AI service?

Yes. To generate clinical briefs and suggestions, patient intake text is sent to a third-party AI inference provider for processing. This data is used only to generate the brief and is not used to train external models.

Does SmartBrief AI sell or share my data?

No. SmartBrief AI does not sell, share, or monetise any patient or clinic data. Clinic usage data, such as brief count and specialty, is used only to manage subscription tier.

How do I delete my data?

Your free brief counter and first-use date are stored locally in your browser only. To reset, clear site data for this URL in your browser settings. For account deletion, contact demo@smartbriefai.in.

A note on compliance

SmartBrief AI is built with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP) in mind. The DPDP Rules were notified in November 2025, with phased compliance milestones through November 2026 and May 2027. SmartBrief AI is currently a development project and is not processing real patient data; clinics evaluating it for production use are welcome to request full detail on data handling before onboarding.
